Adult Swim to Air The Cleveland Show

Great news Cleveland fans! According to several sources, Adult Swim will air reruns of The Cleveland Show, starting in 2013. That’s a long way to wait for Stoolbend hijinx, but at least we know that The Browns will be around for a long time!

In addition, TBS will air episodes starring Cleveland, Donna, Roberta, Junior and Rallo. This is great summer news that will give our favorite Family Guy character the exposure he deserves!

Adult Swim is the mature-themed late night programming block found on Cartoon Network after prime time. Check your local listings for details. They currently air other favorites such as Family Guy and American Dad.

In case you missed it or want to watch it again, click below to view Cleveland’s freestyle rap entitled “Straight Outta Stoolbend”. This rap came out of nowhere because it seemed like Cleveland wasn’t going to step up to Federline’s challenge, but he comes through in a big way.

Cleveland is quickly becoming quite the emcee .

Stoolbend & Montgomery Flea Market Raps

In the episode “Birth of a Salesman”, Cleveland tells Cleveland Jr. that he tried his hand at being a Flea Market spokesman, then the show cuts away to a one minute music video featuring Cleveland promoting all types of furniture.

While I did enjoy the gag at first, I had no idea that it was a reference to an identical viral video, so I found the original on YouTube, clipped the video from The Cleveland Show, and you can find both after the break.

You can even watch them both at the same time, they synch up so well it’s eerie!

Stoolbend Character Sketch: Donna Tubbs

In our series “Stoolbend Character Sketch” we will profile the colorful residents of Stoolbend, Virginia. The Cleveland Show is chock full of charismatic personalities and we will give each cast member his or her own bio page.

Donna Tubbs and Cleveland Brown go way back and although they shared a deep affection for each other, they remained just friends. Perhaps because of his bad boy nature, Robert was the one romantically involved with Donna and they eventually got married and had two children together, Roberta and Rallo.

I’m convinced that Donna knew about Cleveland’s love for her, but I suppose that since he never stepped up she just went with someone who did assert himself. Eventually, Robert and Donna split up and Donna was left with custody of the kids.

In the pilot episode, we see a short-lived reunion between Robert and Donna, which causes Cleveland to finally stand up for himself and declare his love for Donna. This is what wins her over and they soon tie the knot.

As a mother, Donna is overwhelmed with work and raising her children. Roberta is a rebellious teenager and Rallo is strongminded. She hopes that with Cleveland by her side they can keep the kids in line and help them to grow up in a stable environment.

Donna cares deeply for Cleveland and is very affectionate with him. A stark contrast from Lois, who now “puts up” with Peter more than anything else. Hopefully, we will see more bonding between Cleveland and Donna as “The Cleveland Show” marches on.
